Captain was originally brought into Gabby's Animal Rescue at just 4 weeks old. Captain was brought in as an abandoned puppy. Captain was brought to us in a cardboard box with one of his eyes popped out of his head. Sadly, we had to have the eye removed. It didn't phase Captain one bit. Captain stayed in our rescue for quite some time. We fully trained him. He was adopted when he was 6 months old and returned a few short months later due to barrier guarding while in his kennel and possessiveness over food towards other animals. We were very sad when he was returned. We monitored Captains behavior closely and after being back for a couple weeks he started displaying the behaviors he was returned for. So what did we do? We feed him alone & away from other animals and we only put him in his crate when necessary. Once we felt Captain was ready for adoption, we advertised him again. He was adopted and returned 3 weeks later. This time it was due to Captain 'bullying' her senior German shepherd. This poor pup who has just turned one year old has already been through so much! He deserves a home that is just right for him. Captain is fully trained. He is excellent while on the leash. He heels wonderfully. He rides is the car great. Bathes well. Does phenomenal out in public and social settings. Captain is great with older kids, select dogs and cats. He has also been raised around horses but will try to chase them when they're being worked. Captain is potty trained, and crate trained. Captain is a happy, loving and social pup. Captain is also fully vetted. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, de-wormed, current on flea/tick/heart-worm control & microchipped. Captain will need an experienced adopter. He needs a structured home and boundaries. You give him an inch, he will take a mile.
